We live in a Police State. Many think we are free, but George Orwell's perverse political fiction book titled 1984, along with the film based upon that book, has become reality on multiple levels. Maybe not for you or for me, but for many unfortunate people in our own country. My argument here is going to be: If those who think we are free will allow others in this country or on the other end of our country's foreign policy to lose their freedom and liberty at the hands of the increasingly over zealous police state, none of us are free. Those who think we are all free or those who want to maintain that freedom that they themselves maintain, better use that freedom to stand up for those on the other end who are not free at all. Standing up for a police state is simply unAmerican. Those who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security. But so many Americans have become complicit with the forces of The Police State.
The U.S. government, war machine and the media has advanced and made it acceptable to engage in Pre-Emptive War with little or no dissent. What does that mean? We attack before being attacked and fight in a more chickenshit way than ever before, dropping bombs from unmanned drones. Who is the terrorist? Supposed leaders and media pundits start the fear mongering. It starts with rhetoric, where our supposed leaders ramp up accusations that eventually turn into outright lies. The theory is, tell a lie a few times and people start to believe it. The Weapons of Mass Destruction tie to Saddam Hussein is perhaps the easiest example of how this was used to take us into Pre-Emptive War. It's a crime what happened. And, it continues. Just study what happened to Libya at the hands of the U.S. and Nato.
What we now have are laws such as the NDAA, the acronym for the National Defense Authorization Act. The President now has the authority to assassinate American Citizens without due process, along with, as the ACLU says best on this topic: "On December 31, 2011, President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), codifying indefinite military detention without charge or trial into law for the first time in American history. The NDAA’s dangerous detention provisions would authorize the president — and all future presidents — to order the military to pick up and indefinitely imprison people captured anywhere in the world, far from any battlefield."
And, if you don't think we live in a police state, studies show that one in three black men can expect to go to jail in their lifetime. The prison system has become industrialized. It's a business, where judges are bought by prison owners to incarcerate people. Those who control the Prison Industrial Complex have the biggest stake in keeping the lame "War or Drugs" alive, even though leading experts have called for an end to such tyranny. It's well know principal that prohibition doesn't work. But, keeping drugs illegal reaps big profits. Even our own government/CIA is and has been known to traffic in drugs. Just take a close look at the Iran Contra scandal or the fact that after the U.S. began to occupy Afghanistan, heroin/opium production and distribution jumped in that country, with U.S. puppet Karzai's brother well known to be the drug lord of the region. Sure, he's dead now, but who took over his business? That is a great question. The hypocrisy of the War on Drugs wreaks to high heaven. It's a corporatist war upon people, where The Police State and the Prison Industrial Complex reigns.
Freedom is something that most think they have. But, if anyone decides to step out of line, and criticize the status quo, police, from local to federal to international, to local/federal tax authorities, to even corporate mercenary armies and infiltrators like Haliburton, Academi/XE/Blackwater and DynCorp, will find you, infiltrate you and seek to incite you and your cronies to set you up for a takedown, often times based on fabricated evidence. Let's face it. Many cops lie and twist their reports. And so do politicians. The media is often complicit, when it comes to the drumbeat of war.
Who has stood up against the status quo and the police state and given us all a chance to stand up for what is right? In government, Congressman Ron Paul is by far the most shining example. And, he has been so consistent that his supporters have broken his name through from obscurity. But there are many others, who continue to fight like obscure underdogs. Congressman Dennis Kucinich is one such patriot. The former U.S. Congresswoman from Savannah Georgia, Cynthia McKinney, is another high flying example of someone who is willing to fight The Police State. Yet, most have never heard of her. She ran for President in 2008, and when Ron Paul withdrew and was not on my ballot, but Cynthia was on my ballot and she was the only logical choice for me and I was proud to vote for her. McKinney is the real deal! I have heard eople call her a" paranoid angry black woman!". Well, we should all be angry, in my humble opinion. If you are not angry, you are tuned out. There are others in politics who actually fight the fight with votes in Congress and not just rhetoric when running for office, but they are far and few between. Justin Amash is one Freshman in the U.S. House of Representatives who deserves a round of applause.
In media, heros against the status quo are Any Goodman and Juan Gonzalez with their program Democracy Now! Regardless of your political leaning, these are real reporters who are not lying. They are not part of the increasingly fascist mass media You may or may not agree with their pro immigrant in support of those here illegally, or their pro-union at the expense of big corporate, but you cannot argue with their passion for real reporting and the fact that they dig for facts rarely if ever reported. Democracy Now!, also known as DN!, really reports the news, especially when it comes to going up against the Pre-Emptive War Machine and The Police State. And, I can't forget Phil Donahue. The man had the courage to challenge the whole Weapons of Mass destruction hysteria and lost his job at MSNBC for not reading the talking point memos. He did what the media should really do. Constitutional judge & TV commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano is also the exception to the rule with his program, Freedom Watch. Alex Jones may seem like a lunatic fringe radical to the casual listener to his programs, however, whether you agree with his reports or not, he is the ultimate resistor of The Police State. There is even a man on Death Row, Mumia Abu Jamal, who stand strong against The Police State and whose message is strong. whether one thinks Mumia is guilty or innocent, his fight against The Police State is remarkable and undeniably noble. Mumia Abu Jamal is a real journalist.
Stand up against The Police State. It's a intellectual fight, not a physical one. Everyone can do it, including you. America needs you to resist, not comply. Think! Be a Weapon of Mass Dissent!
The Alternative Candidates to RomBomba
Please consider your support of the man, who in my humble opinion, is the leading champion of liberty running for president in 2012: Join Ron Paul at his official website.
And, don't forget to give love to other alternative candidates such as:
Roseanne Barr - Not only is Barr an actress. She is a resistor of The Police State. As one of two Green Party candidates seeking it's nomination. She may be a comedian, but she is serious when it comes to her political views. She happens to be Jewish. You would think she would be a supporter of Israel's foreign policy. She is not, however. She has led the fight to bring attention to what she views as Israel's bad policies, that are tied to the U.S. - Click here for a taste of her views on this issue. And, click here for another piece on Barr's pointed Israel Policy positions. Kudos Roseanne, for saying it like you see it! (In my humble opinion, Roseanne is spot on with regards to U.S. policy with regards to Israel.)
Dr. Jill Stein - Also seeking the Green Party nomination. Stein's platform includes a pardon for Bradley Manning, the U.S. Army soldier accused of leaking classified material to the whistleblower website, WikiLeaks. He is in prison for bringing to light numerous U.S. led atrocities, including but not limited to a U.S. military night raid that killed six children, followed by a U.S. air strike to destroy the evidence and cover up the atrocity.
One of Dr. Stein's first actions as President would be to "order the DEA and the Justice Department to cease and desist all attempts to harass or prosecute medical marijuana clinics or other legitimate marijuana-related businesses that are operating under state laws."
Americans Elect is attempting to present itself as a fresh approach that can break the way the current Two Party System operates. Americans Elect, in it's own words says: "AMERICANS ELECT is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any political party, ideology or candidate. It is funded exclusively by individual contributions—and not from corporate, labor, special interest, foreign, or lobbyist sources. And we intend to repay our initial financing so that no single individual will have contributed more than $10K. - Ultimately, Americans Elect is the first nominating process that will be led directly by voters like YOU."
Declared candidates of AMERICA ELECT are: former Governor Buddy Roemer, former Mayor Rocky Anderson who has been endorsed by Ralph Nader, Professor Laurence Kotlikoff, activist Michealene Risley, businessman/CEO TJ OHara, Mike Ballantine, Blake Ashby, Dwight Smith, Merlin Miller, and Sanderson Beck. There are numerous so called "Draft Candidates" who are nominated by supporters of America Elect and are not official declared candidates. The top draft candidate at this time is Ron Paul with 8422 supporters all the way down to political pundit Dylan Ratigan with 27 current supporters.
final thoughts....
It is very sad to me that the media has brainwashed the masses to believe there are only two choices in this upcoming presidential race. BOTH Romney and Obama completely are terrible status quo choices. The lesser of the evils argument for one or the other holds no water, for they are both beholding to the Bilderberg Group, The Federal Reserve puppet masters, The Military Industrial Complex, the Council on Foreign Relations, the extreme right wing Zionists and others who don't have compassion for all people, but only themselves. A vote for either will deliver the same results on the imperialist war front, the inflation that will come as a result of the status quo in terms of monetary policy, the harsh treatment of innocent people where our offensive military forces occupy, bringing more hatred toward our country when we need to spread love, not hate. Please consider a vote for one of the alternative candidates.
