Opinion by Greg Chamberlain
In my humble opinion, today, this day, the 4th of July or "Independence Day", should not be a holiday or a reason to celebrate. The Founders of this once great Republic must be spinning in their graves like rotisserie chickens and, in my humble opinion, they would be calling for revolution and revolt, rather than partaking in a "holiday" filled with jingoistic hyperbole, hot dogs and flag waving.
The U.S. via the government, military industrial, prison industrial and pharma industrial complex's have become the oppressor of people with it's Police State, Warfare State & Prison State. It has also become one of the biggest polluters of the environment and peoples minds not only domestically, but all over the world. We have become imperialist pigs. Our government is clearly one of the top terrorists of the world, based upon their regime changing wars on others thousands of miles from our own shores. Not for the kind of freedom and liberty they pretend about, but for the corporate interests to have the freedom & liberty to rape and pillage people and resources that do not belong to us, all on the taxpayer dime as we install puppets not friendly to freedom, but friendly to tyranny and cronyism.
John Adams himself envisioned, on July 2, 1776, that it would be the day Americans would mark independence from Great Britain. But have we? We've got the Bilderberg Group, headed up by Rockefeller and Rothchild interests controlling our politicians as if they are puppets. And what about the so called Israel Lobby known as AIPAC? They've got Congress by the balls, the hair and by the ears. Our politicians have no spines. Bunch of piss ants for the biggest check writers.
Wake up people and stop reaching for the Cool-Aid. Today is a day for revolution. It's an intellectual revolution, not a violent physical one. You see... the government can't fight intellectual revolutions very well, so we can win if enough people wake the fuck up. Those who tell me to "have a Happy Holiday", I say "get informed. If you are not angry, you must be asleep at the wheel."
As I read this quote from Abraham Lincoln, can't help but ponder the truth that nearly everything the founders had envisioned has been pissed on by our so called leaders. Independent? I think not.
